Sabre 27 Rallies are arranged on an area basis. The South Coast usually have two each year, one in June on the IOW and a second in October on the mainland to assist with members travelling by land if the weather is unkind. Other areas usually have one rally each year. Below are details of recent Sabre 27 rallies.
South Coast Summer Rally: 16th - 17th June 2012
The Folly Inn, The Medina River, Isle of Wight
As there is no better place in the area, and it is pretty good, we will be returning to the Folly Inn, Medina river, IOW where we have a suitable section of the mid stream pontoons opposite the Folly reserved for us, so we will all be together as usual. Overnight mooring approximately £11. Water taxi across to the Folly for the evening meal, approximately £2.00 ish return or use your own dingy and risk that wet bum again!
Our table in the restaurant area, away from the Band, for the evening meal will be ready for 1945, with the usual varied menu of good food at sensible prices ordered at the bar.
Tides are: Guaranteed by the Admiralty:
Dover/Portsmouth HW approximately 1000 hrs, mid spring/neap.
Ordered from Met Office.com: Same as last year, didn’t I do well?
Sat: Northerly 4, cloud 5%, viz - good, surf slight.
Sun: Southerly 4, cloud 10% , viz - 15 miles, surf moderate.
Put it in your diary now to avoid disappointment. For further information contact Paul Howard on the usual numbers.

South Coast Rally: 24th 25th September 2011
The South Coast Rally was held as usual at Marchwood Sailing Club on 24th and 25th of September.
This year, the tides were ideal for boats sailing from the eastern Solent. Marchwood is such a good venue that we certainly hope to return there in 2012...

South Coast Rally: 26th 27th September 2009
The Marchwood Rally, Marchwood Yacht Club, Southampton Water
I always look forward to the Marchwod Rally although this year I had the responsibility of organising it for the first time.
By the time I arrived several Sabres were already there, including Corsair, London Apprentice, Shadowfax and also Mooncross...

East Coast Rally: 8th 9th August 2009
Chatham Marina
A rally to Chatham Marina took place on the 8th and 9th of August. Chatham marina is 13 miles from Sheerness, entry is possible at all states of the tide. Nearby is a pub and restaurant; also nearby there is a convenience store stocking essential items.
Adjacent to the marina is the historic Chatham Dockyard, whilst the attractions of Chatham Gillingham and Rochester are only minutes away.

South Coast Rally: 13th - 14th June 2009
The Folly Inn, The Medina River, Isle of Wight
We had booked the same weekend as the Isle of Wight festival and all of a sudden the word went round that the Red Arrows were on the way to do their wonderful display. Sure enough they roared up the Medina and we had a ringside seat to the best display that I have ever seen, it seemed to go on for ages, WOW!...

Our autumn rally and laying-up supper was again at Marchwood Yacht Club, on Southampton Water. With sheltered pontoon moorings, a good bar, excellent food and a warm welcome, this venue has proved ideal in recent years and didn't let us down in 2008...

South Coast Rally: 14th - 15th June 2008
The Folly Inn, The Medina River, Isle of Wight
Mindful of last years debacle caused by a flat spare wheel during the journey from our Hertfordshire home to our mooring in Ridge Wharf, Poole, I checked the wheel before loading the car, noting at the same time the presence of a shiny new 12 volt inflator in the side compartment. Having got underway not long after 0600 Friday we had an uneventful trip, arriving at our mooring in plenty of time to stow things away on board and make the final preparations for this years ‘shakedown’ passage...

South Coast Rally: 16th - 17th June 2007
The Folly Inn, The Medina River, Isle of Wight
We sailed from Poole at 0430 Saturday morning in a rising, brisk S/Westerly, arriving at The Folly moorings at 1130 where Stephen and Helen Lawrence (Shamal) who had sailed across Poole bay the evening before, anchored overnight in Keyhaven pool and drifted up the Solent in the morning, stood calmly ready to take our lines...
